Joseph Seymour enlisted as a private in Company D on August 29, 1862 at the
age of 22 and transferred to the non-commissioned staff the same day as
Sergeant Major. Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant of Company A on March 1, 1863
under a commission dated March 4, 1863, rank February 8, 1863. Transferred
to Company K June 16, 1863, and resigned August 9, 1863.
