Henry Shorey enlisted as a Wagoner on August 30, 1862, at the age of 31.
He deserted in December, 1862. He was tried by
court-martial and sentenced to serve out his term of enlistment and to be
dishonorably discharged with loss of pay and allowances.
He was transferred to the 102nd New York.
