Oliver T. May
Captain, Co. A

Oliver T. May entered the service as a member of the 12th New York Infantry, and from that regiment joined the 149th, Company A, for duty early in the spring of 1863 at the age of 23, under a commission as Captain, dated March 4, 1863, rank January 17, 1863, but was not mustered until August 10, 1863.

He was slightly wounded in the side at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee on November 24, 1863.

About September 10, 1864, Captain May was detached for duty as A. A. A.-G and A. A. I.-G on the staff of Colonel Barnum, commanding the 3rd Brigade, and remained on duty in the latter position to the close of the war, and was mustered out with his company as Captain.

He was Brevetted Major.
