Byron Cauley enlisted on August 25, 1862 at the age of 18. He was
seriously wounded in the abdomen at Chancellorsville, Virginia, on Ma 3, 1863
and sent to the Potomac Creek hospital.
He was promoted to Corporal on May 1, 1865 and was present at final muster.
